Good Angels Košice will play for the EEWBL title second consecutive year. The champions withstood a furious comeback by the Final Four newcomers Udominate Basket to secure a 74-69 win on Saturday, March 17 at Daugava Sports hall in Riga, Latvia.
Zuzana Žirkova hit a three pointer midway the first quarter to start a 18-0 run for Košice. The champions moved the ball fast to score easy points in transition 22-8.
Good Angels extended their lead up to 16 points (35-19). Their opponents finished the first half better and cut the gap to 11 points 39-28.
Udominate improved its performance in offense even further, by scoring 30 points in the third quarter. Gintare Mazionyte scored 15 points in eight minutes to give her team a three point lead 55-58.
Good Angels regrouped and relied on its veteran core to reclaim the lead. Zuzana Žirkova was calm and deadly, Romana Stehlikova chipped in five crucial points, Anna Jurčenkova executed under the basket. The Angels prevailed.

Zuzana Žirkova was brilliant in the final ten minutes of the game, to finish the semifinal with 10 points, 10 rebounds and five assists.
Devereaux Peters shined on both ends of the floor. She had 14 points, five rebounds and a Final Four record six blocks for a tied efficiency rating with Žirkova – 19 for both.
Tiffany Brown led all scorers again. She scored 19 points on 8-of-14 shooting from the field. Georgia Southern standout added nine rebounds and five assists.
Gintare Mazionyte had 18 points, while Ana Marija-Begič registered another double-double – 10 points and 16 rebounds.
Good Angels Košice scored more points off turnovers (19-9) and achieved higher shooting percentage in all categories (field goals 26/66 against 24/71).
Udominate controlled the paint (16-30), grabbed more offensive rebounds (12-15) and scored more second chance points.
