Welcome Piešťanské Čajky!

Welcome Piešťanské Čajky!

When you take into account the size-quality ratio, Slovakia is a highly successful women`s basketball country.

From 1993 until 2003 Slovakia women`s national team achieved six straight “Top 8” finishes at the EuroBasket Women.

Slovakia won the bronze medal at the EuroBasket Women 1993 in Perugia, Italy and went all the way to the silver medal four years later in Budapest, Hungary.

The Slovak women finished in the fifth place at the 1994 FIBA World Championship in Australia. They added the eighth place at the 1998 FIBA World Championship in Germany.

Slovakia debuted at the 2000 Olympic Games in Sydney, Australia, finishing in the seventh place with three wins over Canada, Senegal and Poland.

Natalia Hejkova is a five time EuroLeague Women champion with three different teams – MBK Ruzomberok, Sparta&K Moscow and USK Prague.

Slovakia returned to the EuroBasket Women Top 8 in 2017, while the Good Angels Košice won its maiden EEWBL title.

There are no days off for the Angels when they meet with the Piešťanské Čajky.

Piešťany – a city one and a half hour northeast from the Austrian capital of Vienna – is building its own basketball tradition.

Last season Čajky won the Slovak Cup for the first time.

Club`s accolade list includes three silver medals in the Slovak Extraliga (2015-2017), three Cup finals (also in 2014 and 2016) and two podium finishes in the Central European Women`s league (CEWL bronze in 2015, silver in 2017).
