Here are the reactions from the 2017 EEWBL champions – Good Angels Košice!
Peter Jankovic, head coach
“I think the Final Eight tournament was very good for us because it served as a good preparation for the finals of Slovak Extraliga. And the whole Eastern European Women`s basketball league was good too. It helped the Angels a lot.
We had four games in four days. We played very bad against Kibirkštis Vilnius on Friday, because we were a little bit tired after the Extraliga game. We played better and better after that.
Zuzana “Zuška” Žirkova is a legend of Slovak basketball – everybody in Europe knows that. She is a very good player. Teja Oblak also. They are very, very important players for us and our team. I think they showed to everyone that they are very good players.”

“It was hard for me to play four days in a row but playing in our home court – the Angels Arena – helped us. It`s good to win in home court. We showed them (our opponents) that we are a very good team.
I think the Final Eight was a big tournament for us as we are already out from the FIBA EuroCup. It was tough and we are still looking forward to the Extraliga final. Now we`re gonna enjoy it!
I think the family is always the first. When you have this kind of game they are rooting for you and they are behind you. It was a great joy to play in front of them.
This year we had a great team and we showed it in the FIBA Cup. We`re still sorry that we are already out but we showed that we are still a good team.
The next goal is to win the Slovak Extraliga. It will be not easy to do so. We still have to focus, it will take two or three more weeks to win it.
I think this is my last season but you never know.”
